Evelyn is so beautiful, charming, full of joy and the center of our world! We had a wonderful weekend (and mini two day vacation) up in Duluth and on the North Shore. The weather was cool and drizzly but that just enhanced the beauty of the changing leaves! We stopped at Leif Erikson Park in Duluth and walked around. I haven't been to that park since I was little so it was nostalgic to be there! We walked down by the water and watched the waves crash up on the rocks and looked out over the Duluth Harbor. Ian let Evey play in the rocks and she had so much fun mimicing him as he clacked two rocks together!
We've been playing new little games with Evey lately and it's so fascinating to watch and pay attention to what she is learning. Ian has taught her how to "Smack" kisses! Not only does she wave at people (hello and bye, bye) but she'll give them kisses too (well, people she knows at least)! Daddy and Grandpa play with Evey saying "aaaaahhhh" (tapping on the mouth). It's sign of affection that she associates with daddy and grandpa - when she was going to bed last night I said "say ni-night to daddy, give him a kiss" and she tapped on her mouth and said "aaahahhaaa". So amazing!
She was thouroughly entertained while at the wedding this past weekend - she loved all the activity and people! I'm amazed that she didn't have a crying or fussing fit at all! She fell asleep in Jim's arms for a few hours and then woke up to play until 11pm. We were very nervous about the repercussions of messing with her sleep schedule. Alas, we were able to sleep in until 9:30!!
